This site is only a few months old, so we don’t expect to have it all just yet. Are there any green businesses, holistic practitioners, or events you think we should review or announce on the site? Here’s your chance to tell us what we’re missing!
Just to clarify, we’re looking for real suggestions from our readers–not advertisements for your own business.
Maybe some ideas for good consignment shops for childrens clothes-especially ones that actually pay well…getting consigned clothes reduces what new stuff you buy and consigning your stuff is good as well(IMO) but I don’t know if that qualifies as “green”…
Oh yes!!! Great idea!!! I think that totally goes along with green living!
I agree also, I know a couple of them already. I think that totally goes along w/ sustainable living.
Yes, I’ll add a category now.
I have been searching for clothing in central florida, I have a very hard time purchasing cloths on-line but I can’t find any organic clothing stores. If anyone knows of any please let me know. Business attire… Socks…jeans…whatever - I love to shop. Our conignment stores are awful here and I can’t head to the mall!!!! Help
I am looking for some recycling information and thought this would be a good place to get some feedback. I live in an apartment in the MetroWest area. My complex does not have recycling bins, only one giant dumpster. I cannot allow myself to throw away my cans and bottles so instead they are piling up in bags next to my trash. Does anyone know where they are bins I could take my recycling to? Since I am not issued the standard red and blue bins from the city (like I am accustomed to.. just moved into this apartment) I do not know what my other options are. Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks
Out with the boxes! In Northumberland County we are on the bag program where we can mix 3 types of recycling (”single stream recycling”) in one clear or blue tinted bag. No bins to pick up, to clean or to lose!
We use 2 bag hangers to secure our bags directly to the wall. This creates a lot of space and keeps things well organized. The recycling bag programs are a lot easier than the bin/box programs; the bags themselves are then recycled. Boxes don’t work in apartments, it’s very difficult to walk through doors with your boxes. You can find the apartment bag hanger bracket at Create-Some-Space recycle and trash bag hanger. (www.createsomespace.com)
They have a system for schools, apartments, housing and businesses.
Good luck
As my husband and I are looking for New Homes we have noticed that there aren’t many “Green” or “Eco-Friendly” home builders. We heard of one in Kissimmee, somewhere below the airport. We haven’t gone to look at it yet. I didn’t know if anyone knew of anymore. That might be a good topic! Thanks.
