Green Earth Expo 2008, a production of Global Green Alliance, will be held here at the Orlando Convention Center May 15-18. The Global Green Alliance is an Orlando-based corporation whose mission is:
“To support and promote sustainable commerce and lifestyle practices in the State of Florida, and to achieve a collective reduction in the impact of those practices on our natural environment everywhere.”
The motivation behind Green Earth Expo 2008 is to provide a venue where those concerned with green issues and living a life of less impact can come together and share ideas. This includes manufacturers, retailers and consumers all coming together to network and learn. The Orange County Convention Center is the chosen venue since it is the greenest convention center in the US.
Green Earth Expo 2008 will be open to the public and they are expecting 600 exhibitors and over 50,000 attendees. Put this weekend on your calendar as it is sure to be a wonderful event for the eco-conscious. For general information please visit Green Earth Expo 2008.
Exhibitor space for Green Earth Expo 2008 is still available. For more information on exhibiting please contact Laura Painter at laura.painter@globalgreenalliance.com or Ginger Puckett at ginger.puckett@globalgreenalliance.com Please mention that you learned of Green Earth Expo 2008 on the Central Florida Green Guide.
Kristy has a three-year old son and since his birth she’s been researching to find healthier ways to do things and live a life of less impact. In a city that is less than “crunchy” it has been an adventure and she hopes to share some of what she’s learned both here and at her store Wee Willie Winks where she offers cloth diapers and other earth/child friendly parenting solutions.

Do you plan to do anything with the construction industry?
My firm does cool roof coatings for commercial buildings to reduce interior temperature and save power used for air conditioning. This is supported by Florida Power and Light and Progress Energy.

We’re definitely going!!!
I hear there will be hybrid cars on display!
The Holistic Moms Network will have a table here, come and stop by!
Can’t wait for this expo and the chance to enhance people’s lives with live total wellness!
I just learned about this expo today. I am already trying to get a table set up there. I bet it will be awesome to see so many green things.
I can’t wait to meet other people who are trying to raise their children to be health and environmentally conscious. I also would like to know WHERE in Central Florida I can find more organic children products within 10 miles of my home. Out of frustration, I ended up opening a children’s boutique and art studio in downtown Winter Garden. I am going to try to set up a table displaying the educational eco-friendly toys and infant organic products that that I sell at my boutique, http://www.daisyboutiqueandartstudio.com.
I am going to place a fliers announcing the Green Day Expo at my boutique to raise more environmental awareness.

I am a local distributor for gourmet natural wax candles. I’m looking for local Green events to display these natural products. I guess I’m a bit late for this year’s Green Earth Expo., but does anyone know of any similar events in the area?

Hi! Paula,
I saw an article in this weeks West Orange Times and there was an article announcing that Winter Garden is going to have a Farmers Market and they are looking for vendors. Give me a call and I will give you more details. You can call me at the boutique 407-654-1748. I am a member of the Winter Garden’s Merchant Guild and we have been working on opening a farmers market for several months. It will be open in JUNE. I am so excited. I live in Winte Garden and I also have a children’s boutique there. If you know of other vendor who sell eco-friendly products, organic food, fruits, home-made sauces, etc., have them call me and I can direct them to the right people.

Would like to attend the Grean Earth Expo as a volunteer. Contact me if you could arrange that.
Hi! David,
I will try to stop by your table and check out your products. Many of my friends have gone back to using glass infant bottles, but most are breastfeeding because they do not know what other toxic chemicals are being released when te baby comes in contact with the nipple on the bottle. Anyhow, it is nearly impossible to find glass bottles since these days everyone tends to use plastics. I am concerned about the high levels of PBA in plastics. I just order stainless steel cups for my entire family and my toddler drinks out of a mug.

Paula,
It appears there are still a couple of booth spots available for the Green Earth Expo - but it’s a bit pricey, depending on your business model. Don;t forget that whenever you do a trade show like this - the bigger ones - there are some ‘hidden costs’ to having a booth that include such things as power, internet, and carpeting! The nickels and dimes add up quickly!
As an aside, anyone going please stop by the data-green booth (I think we are in 711) and say hi. We’ll be giving away a few prizes and everyone that stops by will have a change to win.

The fact that this is the inaugural Green Earth Expo meant that we had to compromise on such amenities as free parking and free electricity in booths. However, the buzz which the event has generated has been most impressive and it began last year! I, for one, can’t wait to see how it all turns out.
I went to this expo and it was not that great. Over half of the vendors had nothing to do with Green or being Green. Buyer Beware - since GREEN is so hot right now - everyone is trying to jump on the Band Wagon to make $$$. If this expo comes back next year - I will NOT be going. I felt it was a WASTE of my MONEY to attend!!!! Very Disappointed….
Hope the show was successful for all that participated. Never made it to the show so cannot say how it went, but please check out shows as you would any other green business. Here are some tips http://www.improveyourhomeandgarden.com/index.php
