Infusion Tea opened in College Park in December of 2004 but I just recently made my way over there and discovered a lovely haven quite close to home. Infusion Tea offers a wide variety of organic tea, a vegetarian menu, organic produce and a wide selection of items and tea-related goodies for you to take home. I had the pleasure of sitting down with owner Christina Cowherd and we had a nice chat about Infusion Tea and the family behind this gem.
Offering 75 varieties of tea, there is certainly an option for anyone from tea lovers searching for an old favorite or a new adventure to the novice tea drinker. The folks at Infusion Tea are friendly and will happily guide you in finding the right tea. Generally their tea is arranged by caffeine content with black teas on the top shelf, green and white on the middle and herbal on the bottom shelf. Even with these guidelines I was still uncertain what would be the best choice since I am not a big tea drinker. With help, I settled on a passion fruit tea and was pleasantly surprised. I was able to appreciate the fruity goodness and enjoy the presentation (it came in a really cool cup) and ritual involved in sipping the afternoon away. In the past, adventures in tea for me never got much further than an initial sip or two. Infusion Tea’s tea was great and I enjoyed it!
The menu at Infusion Tea is rotated to feature the best selections of the season and most of the new dishes are also vegan. The bread is baked from scratch all the way down to grinding the wheat on site and the dairy offered is always organic. For kids, there is an organic vegetarian kids menu. Christina and her husband, Brad, have a daughter, Emma, and Christina expressed how important it was to her to be able to offer parents healthy, organic options for their kids. They also offer organic produce and post the location of where each item was purchased. When possible, Infusion Tea buys locally and you can see their support of local businesses clearly at each table where you’ll find a bottle of Winter Park Honey.
Infusion Tea makes it easy to come in, get comfortable and stay a while. They offer free wireless internet, your choice of dining inside or outside or relaxing on the comfy couch in back and they clearly display the breastfeeding symbol at their entrance. They also offers poetry nights, monthly tea tastings and other special events. They recently opened a second location at Urban Think and in May of 2007 they opened Cottage Industry, a local designer co-op offering local hand-made items. Cottage Industry is adjacent to Infusion Tea so you can browse the treasures from local artisans when you stop in. There are a lot of fun things going on at Infusion Tea and the best way to stay up to date is to join their newsletter. You can also check their event calendar on their website.
Please treat yourself to an outing to Infusion Tea soon and stop back here to leave a Comment and let others know how it went. Also please look for future articles on Cottage Industry and Infusion Tea’s Urban Think location.

I love infusion tea! Their food is amazing and the atmosphere is wonderful. They are very kid friendly, and also breastfeeding friendly. However I do think they only have one highchair. Something to think about if you are going with other moms.
I just went there last week for the first time and was very impressed. The staff was so helpful and the food and tea was fantastic.
Yeah i will try to treat myself with infusion tea.
I was so excited to eat at a vegetarian restaurant and they did not disappoint. The food was fresh, the tea delicious, the staff was friendly, and the atmosphere was very calm. This place is Awesome!!!
Infusion Tea in College Park is the new home to ICAN of Orlando’s (www.ican-online.org) monthly meetings! We had our first meeting there last month and we were highly impressed with the atmosphere, friendliness, and comfort we felt there. Everyone was pleased with the yummy food and tea and had nothing but great things to say.
We are looking forward to our next meeting there and trying out the tea of the day!
