UPDATE: Check out my review of Chefs’ Night: Modern German Vegetarian: a Review of Chefs’ Night Out at the Willow Tree Cafe
For those of you who haven’t been to Hollerbach’s Willow Tree Cafe in Downtown Sanford, you are missing quite an experience! Although it is sometimes a challenge for me to find vegetarian options on the menu at this fantastic German restaurant, I know that all I have to do is talk with Theo or Linda Hollerbach and they’ll help me find a satisfying choice.
Imagine my excitement when I discovered that this month’s “Chef’s Night Out” is going to be “Modern Fresh German Vegetarian!” Chef’s Night Out is a fairly new creation of the Hollerbach’s. This event happens once a month, and gives the chefs at the Willow Tree Cafe an opportunity to create a three-course meal based on a special ingredient or unique theme. The diners have the opportunity to evaluate the meal and give feedback to the chefs. There is only one seating at 7:00 pm and reservations are required.
It isn’t every day that a German restaurant offers an evening of vegetarian delights, so I hope you’ll join me at the Hollerbach’s Willow Tree Cafe for this month’s Chef’s Night Out!

I just wanted to chime in here since we are big fans of Willow Tree. My kids LOVE the potato pancakes as well as the spatzel (noodles).
We are lucky enough to live just 5 minutes away… I highly recommend it. It can get pricey though..so be prepared for that.
Is this event Wednesday or 7/22, which is tomorrow, Tuesday? We have not been in a while, but do love this place, especially the patio when they have a live entertainment. Their fruit/snack plate for the kids is really nice, but it seems there was one thing on it we needed to substitute for last time, although it escapes me what it was at the present moment. Thanks for letting us know about this!
Hi Jill,
Sorry about the confusion - it is on the 22nd! That is tomorrow!
