Perhaps you feed your dog all natural foods and treats because you know it’s better for their health and vitality. But do you know how important it is to also use all natural, non-toxic grooming products and flea control products on your pet? If you’re concerned about your pet’s health, but still want to pamper your pooch, then head on over to Woof! Orlando – Orlando’s first certified “green” pet grooming salon.

Woof! Orlando is not only an award winning pet grooming salon (specializing in Terriers), but it also offers spa features for your dog. Using only eco-friendly and all-natural grooming and cleansing products, they can pamper your dog with spa services such as:
- Conditioning Wrap
- Tropical Exfoliator

Owner Michelle Olds is passionate about creating a healthier, more eco-friendly lifestyle for central Florida dogs. Her mission is to show dog owners how easy it can be to choose greener products that benefit both the Earth and your dog’s health. And one of the first places you can go green for a healthier pet is through dog grooming.
It’s amazing how many chemicals groomers use on dogs,” Olds said. “It’s not even that much more money to go green with dogs. It’s just that people don’t know how important it is.”
In order to spread the word about how harmful dog grooming salons can be to the environment and how easy it is to change for the better, Olds went to someone who could help her spread the word - the City of Orlando. Orlando’s Green Business program had been certifying only restaurants, landscaping businesses and vehicle maintenance industries who demonstrated a commitment to go green by protecting their stormwater run off. Olds showed the City of Orlando how dog grooming businesses can contribute to poor water quality through the chemicals that are washed down the drain and dumped in the streets on a daily basis. After becoming aware of the problem, the City of Orlando started certifying dog grooming businesses, as well, with Woof! Orlando as the first certified green dog grooming business in the city.

Traditional dog groomers can douse your dog with harsh and harmful chemical-filled grooming and cleaning products that aren’t good for your dogs health, or the environment. While Woof! Orlando uses all natural grooming and cleaning products, their commitment to the environment doesn’t stop there.
Olds is constantly on a mission to green Woof! Orlando, from switching to more energy efficient light bulbs to only using green cleaning products. Olds also expects all of the suppliers that she deals with to respect the environment, too. In fact, Woof! Orlando only stocks products in their green dog boutique that are healthy and eco-friendly for your dog, as well as are manufactured by companies with a demonstrated commitment to the environment. Their green dog boutique currently has an assortment of natural grooming products, such as Spa Diggity Dog, as well as healthy dog treats such as Sam’s Yam’s. And you can stock up on healthy eating for your dog, too, with Natures Variety Frozen Raw food and Instinct Dry Diet.
With a solid commitment to going green for both the health of the planet and the health of dogs, Olds is on a mission to show central Florida dog owners that you can have a well-groomed pet that’s healthy and happy and even flea-free without the need of toxic chemical products. With happy dog owners and even happier dogs constantly entering and leaving Woof! Orlando, it’s clear to see that’s she’s already succeeding.
Woof! Orlando is located at 3019 Edgewater Drive (across from Edgewater High School) in the College Park area of Orlando. Visit wooforlando.com or phone (407) 422-2206 for more information.
Congratulations on getting this kicked off. I have seen your signs stating you are the ONLY and the PREMIER green salon. That is ok but I would like to see you put more effort into encouraging your fellow groomers to become green.
Being green is an environmental cause, not an advertising tool.
I make occasional visits to local businesses to observe their practices. When visiting your salon (as a prospective client) , I didn’t see any evidence of recycling. In fact I saw one of your staff tossing a plastic container in the trash receptacle. To be truly green, you must set up a recycle
center.
Keep up the good “Green” work and please encourage your grooming peers to follow suit.
This article was written to inform central Floridians about the green businesses that are available. This was not written by Woof! Orlando as an advertising tool, it was written by an independent writer simply as a public service announcement as to the green pet care options in central Florida. If you know of others, please share in this post. It’s important that we encourage all green businesses to succeed in central Florida.
I understand the article wasn’t written by Woof! Orlando, I just wanted to bring the recylce issue to their attention.
In checking the City of Orlando Public Works Department website-

I noticed yet another groom shop has joined the cause. This is wonderful.
Now, A Terrier Tail and Woof! Orlando are both green shops. Hopefully, others will follow suit.
I am the owner of Woof! Orlando and I would like for you to know that we do recycle. We have a designated canister in the back room of our salon for recyclables. It is great that other salons have jumped on the bandwagon and followed our lead. Our goal is to educate all salons in central Florida to go green because we actually do care about the enviornment and the dogs. Thanks for your support!
Albeit many think that having a large group of dog grooming tools close is excessive, the fact remains that you need more than just a brush and a flea collar to keep your dog’s coat and nails healthy.
Arthritis in your pooch can be a huge hassle that many people never even think of in senior dogs.
Hey, moving to the area in the next few months….need natural and green products for our dog….pug that is allergic to mostly all grooming products…our groomer found….www.orange-dogs.com — totally natural and green shampoo and orange spray that disinfects/deodorizes dog between baths…Dog smelled so badly she could not come into the house….need to have groomer who will continue with this grooming regimen…BEST of anything we have ever used!
