On April 11, 2009 froim 9 – 11 a.m., the Orange County University of Florida IFAS extension will be offering a free workshop to learn about water conservation using rain barrels and a how-to on composting. The IFAS Extension is located at 6021 S. Conway Road, Orlando and their phone number is 407-254-9850 x 2. Pre-registration by April 7th is required.

Just got back from this. It was very informative, and we all got bright blue barrels with the faucet and screen/bungee cord to cover to keep leaves and debris out.
The only problem is that this class fills FAST — all the other ones this year are booked so the best thing to do is keep checking back on their website and CALL to get your name on the list quickly.
The other classes at the extension office I’ve been to are quite good too!
